Product Details
Cryolophosaurus was a carnivorous dinosaur first unearthed in what we now know as Antarctica. It roamed the Earth around 190 million years ago during the Jurassic Period, at a time when Antarctica sat closer to the Equator and enjoyed a much milder climate. One of its most eye-catching features was a unique, crown-shaped crest rising from the top of its head, making it one of the most recognizable dinosaurs from its era.
- Scientific Name: Cryolophosaurus ("Cold Crest Lizard")
- Characteristics: This toy figure offers a carefully crafted and accurate representation of the fascinating Cryolophosaurus. Scientists still debate exactly where this dinosaur fits on the evolutionary tree, as it shows traits found in both early meat-eaters and more advanced theropods. Its most striking feature, the distinctive crest, may have been used to attract mates, and on this figure, the crest is highlighted with bright red paint to emphasize its display role. The rest of the figure features realistic coloration, with a blue-gray back, brown sides, and a cream underside, complete with bold stripes along its tail.
