Stegouros

Stegouros was an unusual ankylosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, standing out thanks to its distinctive tail. Unlike other ankylosaurs with clubbed tails, Stegouros had a much shorter tail lined with flat, bladelike structures along the sides—almost resembling an ancient weapon. Discovered in what is now South America, this armored dinosaur’s unique tail design suggests it may have used its tail for defense or display, making it one of the most fascinating ankylosaurs ever found.
